Ryeowook of Super Junior and Wendy of Red Velvet, K-pop artists under SM Entertainment, will take the stage with orchestras. SM Classics announced that it will launch its "SM CLASSICS LIVE 2026-2027 Season" global tour, connecting Asia and North America, led by the two artists.
Wendy will open the tour. She will perform with the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra at the Esplanade Theatre in Singapore on the 10th, and with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra at the Prince Mahidol Hall in Bangkok, Thailand, on the 12th. Both performances will be conducted by Thanapol Setabrahmana. The Bangkok performance in particular has drawn an enthusiastic response, with the first show selling out and a second show added to the schedule.
Ryeowook will take the stage at the closing special performance of the "2026 Korea Season," held at the Ho Guom Opera House in Hanoi, Vietnam, on November 5. At this performance, held together with the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, conductor Kim Yu-won and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra will join to present a stage blending K-pop and classical music.
The global tour will conclude in North America. Wendy will perform with conductor Kim Yu-won and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Canada, on June 29 and 30, 2027, meeting North American audiences.
"SM CLASSICS LIVE" is a concert brand that reinterprets SM Entertainment's signature songs through orchestral arrangements. It has expanded the intersection of classical music and K-pop by collaborating with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the SM Classics TOWN Orchestra last year, and with the Vienna Symphony this past February.
