The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) will hold the "2026 Czech K-Content Expo" in Prague next month, targeting the European market. A total of 29 Korean content companies will participate to conduct export consultations with European buyers, while also presenting programs aimed at local visitors, including K-beauty experiences and K-dance performances.
The ministry and KOCCA announced Tuesday that they will hold the "2026 Czech K-Content Expo" at the Prague Congress Centre for three days from Dec. 1 to 3. The K-Content Expo is a B2B-focused event supporting Korean content companies' overseas expansion. This year it will be held in Prague, a cultural hub of Eastern Europe drawing attention as an emerging Hallyu market.
The event will feature 29 Korean companies in the fields of broadcasting, gaming, animation, and new-technology convergence content, including CJ ENM and Aurora World. On site, around 80 buyers from the European region, including the Czech Republic, Germany, and Poland, are expected to attend to conduct one-on-one export consultations with Korean companies. KOCCA aims to connect Hallyu demand within Europe to actual business results through the expo.
Ahead of the event, KOCCA operated online pre-business matching from the 15th to the 19th. The measure was designed to identify the areas of interest and demand between participating companies and buyers in advance, improving the efficiency of on-site consultations. Based on this, KOCCA expects more than 580 business matchings to take place during the event.
The choice of Prague as the host city reflects the growth potential of the Eastern European market, including the Czech Republic. Prague has served as a hub for cultural and industrial exchange in Eastern Europe, and its high accessibility to neighboring countries such as Germany and Poland makes it a region where buyers from across Europe can be met. KOCCA plans to use the Czech Republic as a bridgehead to expand the export base for K-content not only across Eastern Europe but throughout Europe.
The K-Content Expo is one of KOCCA's flagship export support projects operated to support overseas market entry. It has held events in Saudi Arabia, China, Türkiye, and Poland, broadening contact points between Korean companies and overseas buyers. Last year, it held expos in the MiddEast and European regions including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Türkiye, and Poland, achieving export consultations worth a total of $127.52 million (about 175.4 billion won).
At this Czech event, B2C programs for the general public will be arranged alongside the B2B programs. Centering on K-beauty, which has drawn growing interest abroad recently, experience programs will be operated to introduce the Korean lifestyle, and performance programs linked to K-pop will also be presented. Korean dancers including Aiki, Hyojin Choi, and Lihey will create collaborative stages with local crews to meet Hallyu fans in Prague.
Meanwhile, following the Czech event, KOCCA plans to sequentially hold K-Content Expos in major emerging markets such as Vietnam and Chile. The agency intends to continuously broaden the foundation for K-content's overseas expansion through support tailored to the market characteristics of each region.
