Bluepoint Partners, a deep-tech accelerator, said on the 16th that it has strengthened the artificial intelligence functions of its proprietary investment management platform LATTICE to apply AI across the entire investment process. The core of the upgrade is embedding the investment experience and evaluation framework the firm has built over more than a decade of sourcing, backing and nurturing startups into AI that supports the judgment of its investment professionals.
When a new startup uploads investor relations materials, LATTICE does not simply summarize them. It automatically extracts and structures basic corporate information, the business model, the team and the market. Based on that, the platform presents key review points and searches for past investments, prior reviews and related issues using criteria such as industry, technology, business model and growth stage.
AI also supports portfolio management after an investment is made. It structures quarterly reports and post-investment monitoring data, identifies changes in key indicators such as revenue, cash flow, headcount and fundraising, and alerts the responsible investment professional. The aim is to have AI handle information gathering, organization and change tracking so that investment professionals can focus on qualitative judgments such as technological differentiation, market shifts and founder capability.
Confidential corporate information, however, is managed under the same access rights and security policies as the firm's existing investment management system. AI likewise searches and processes information only within what a given user is permitted to access, and the scope of access has been separated so that one company's confidential information is not used directly in the investment review of another.
Bluepoint plans to add functions that scan external technology and industry information to identify promising companies linked to its investment themes and to detect market shifts. It will also expand a feature that suggests risks and key questions to examine in new investments, drawing on records of past investments and reviews. The idea is to structure investment experience scattered across individual professionals into what the firm calls organizational investment knowledge.
"The essence of adopting AI is not simply efficiency that reduces the workload of investment professionals, but creating conditions in which they can devote more time to more fundamental questions," said Lee In-sung, a director at Bluepoint. "Going forward, we will develop LATTICE into an AI agent that accumulates and applies the experience and knowledge of an investment organization and supports the entire investment process."
