Samsung SDS (018260.KS) has signed a strategic business partnership with Anthropic, the developer of the AI model Claude, joining hands to develop new businesses in the domestic market.
Samsung SDS CEO Lee Jun-hee and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei signed a strategic partnership agreement (SPA) at an AI summit held at The Midway in San Francisco, U.S., on the 24th. President Lee Jae-myung and Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) Chairman Jay Y. Lee also attended the SPA signing ceremony.
Under the partnership, Samsung SDS and Anthropic will jointly pursue the development of new businesses in the domestic market, the training of Claude specialists, and Claude support for Samsung Group affiliates. First, the two companies will conduct joint marketing, proof-of-concept (POC) support, and joint business initiatives with the goal of developing new AI transformation (AX) businesses targeting domestic companies.
The two companies will also jointly operate an applied AI engineer training program to cultivate Claude experts. Applied AI engineers are hands-on specialists who design, build, and operate AI models tailored to corporate settings. Through this program, Samsung SDS plans to develop specialized personnel who will handle the entire process, from planning the adoption of Anthropic's AI services to building, operating, and providing technical support.
In addition, Anthropic, together with Samsung SDS, is providing Claude Enterprise, an enterprise AI service, to 20 Samsung Group affiliates and 70,000 employees.
"This strategic partnership is a starting point for jointly leading the growth of the domestic AI market by combining Anthropic's AI technology with Samsung SDS's experience in industry-specific digital innovation," CEO Lee said. "Based on the strengths of both companies, we will support customers' AI innovation and create new business value."
