
Cybersecurity investment and dedicated personnel at major system integration (SI) firms rose across the board last year.
According to information protection disclosures from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) on Wednesday, information protection investment at three SI firms—Samsung SDS (018260), LG CNS (064400), and Hyundai AutoEver (307950)—increased last year compared with 2024.
Samsung SDS made the largest investment. The company's information protection investment reached 66.7 billion won last year, following 65.2 billion won in 2024, marking the highest level among the three firms for the second consecutive year. Hyundai AutoEver had the next-highest investment. Notably, Hyundai AutoEver increased its information protection investment by 10.6 billion won in one year, from 28.7 billion won in 2024 to 39.3 billion won last year.
Over the same period, LG CNS increased its information protection investment from 27.4 billion won to 30.2 billion won. In terms of revenue, LG CNS posted 6.1295 trillion won last year, ahead of Hyundai AutoEver's 4.2521 trillion won, but Hyundai AutoEver was more aggressive than LG CNS in information protection investment.
The three firms also added dedicated security personnel last year. Samsung SDS's dedicated information protection staff increased from 380.1 in 2024 to 391.1 last year. Over the same period, LG CNS's dedicated information protection staff rose from 225.1 to 256, and Hyundai AutoEver's from 167.1 to 217.9.
