Robert Moreno of Spain, tapped as the interim manager of South Korea's national football team, made those remarks on the 13th as he arrived at Incheon International Airport. The interim manager will lead the team through six international friendlies scheduled through November.
Moreno's contract runs through Nov. 27, and the Korea Football Association included a clause that would extend his tenure through the 2027 Asian Cup in January next year, depending on how the team performs in the six matches. Moreno is scheduled to hold an inaugural news conference at Korea Football Park in Cheonan at 2 p.m. on the 14th, where he will announce the squad for the September and October friendlies. South Korea will face Ecuador on Sept. 24 in Suwon, Uruguay on Sept. 28 in Seoul, Venezuela on Oct. 2 in Ulsan and Uzbekistan on Oct. 6 in Yongin.
"Since being appointed, I have watched and analyzed the Korean national team's matches every day, and I have continued to study Korean culture," Moreno said. "I have many dreams and a strong sense of responsibility, and I will work to make this a better national team."
