Huons, winner of the second round of the Professional Billiards Association (PBA) Team League, is chasing back-to-back titles and a new record for consecutive wins.
Huons is drawing the most attention at the Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League Round 3 Pohang Tour 2026-2027, which opens on the 10th at the indoor gymnasium of Pohang Sports Complex in North Gyeongsang Province.
Huons, which claimed its first title since its founding at the second round held last month in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, is aiming for a second straight title along with a record for consecutive match wins. The team has won 10 in a row, adding a nine-match sweep in the second round to a victory in its final match of the first round.
The longest winning streak in PBA Team League history is 14, set by NH NongHyup Card in the 2023-2024 season. As it happens, NH NongHyup Card is Huons' first opponent in the third round. Huons, led by its formidable one-two punch of Choi Sung-won and Kang Dong-koong, has beaten NH NongHyup Card twice this season, but both wins came only after full-set battles. NH NongHyup Card, which finished ninth in the second round with three wins and six losses and 11 points despite strong showings from Cho Jae-ho and Ma Minh Cam of Vietnam, badly needs a win in its opening match to shift momentum and halt Huons' streak. The Huons-NH NongHyup Card match is set to begin at 7 p.m. on the 10th.
The third round opens at 1 p.m. the same day with a match between Crown Haitai, which finished second in the second round with six wins and three losses and 16 points, and Harim. The two teams split their two meetings this season, and the outcome is expected to hinge on the performances of their respective male aces, David Martinez of Spain for Crown Haitai and Kim Young-won for Harim.
At 4 p.m., High1 Resort plays Welcome Savings Bank and Hana Card plays SY in simultaneous matches, followed by Woori Financial Capital against Breakers at 10 p.m.
