HJ Heavy Industries has launched a new golf team composed of stars from the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour.
HJ Heavy Industries held an inauguration ceremony for the HJ Heavy Industries golf team, consisting of five players including Park Ji-young, at the company's Namyeong building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 24th.
The HJ Heavy Industries golf team was formed by acquiring the Korea Land Trust golf team. Park Ji-young, who has won 10 titles on the KLPGA Tour, anchors the team alongside Hong Jung-min and Cho A-yeon, who have each earned four wins. Kim Min-seo, who competes on the KLPGA's second-tier tour, and Park Seo-jin, a promising high school player, are also members of the team.
Four of the players attended the event, with the exception of Park Seo-jin, who was unable to join due to a tournament appearance. Kim Su-ji and Moon Jung-min of the Dongbu Corporation golf team, a sister team, also visited the venue to cheer on their colleagues.
"Just as steel is forged to build ships, I will hammer myself hard this year so that I can lift more trophies next year," Park Ji-young said, expressing her resolve.
HJ Heavy Industries plans to use the golf team not merely as a sports sponsorship but as a platform to expand communication with customers.
"Through the operation of the golf team, we are drawing a blueprint in which the company, players, customers and local communities come together," an HJ Heavy Industries official said. "Going forward, we plan to organically link sports marketing, ESG activities and community contribution programs to raise both the brand value and social value unique to HJ Heavy Industries."
