A man in his 20s was arrested without a warrant under an emergency arrest procedure after injecting methamphetamine at a hotel in Seoul's Gangseo district and then wandering the lobby wearing only his underwear.
Gangseo Police Station said on the 23rd that it had recently arrested the man, identified only as A, 29, without a warrant under an emergency arrest procedure on charges of violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics and is investigating him without detention, according to police.
A is accused of injecting methamphetamine with a syringe and also snorting the drug in the men's restroom on the first floor of a hotel in Yeomchang-dong, Gangseo district, at about 2:40 p.m. on the 18th.
Officers who responded to a report from the hotel obtained witness statements saying A had been walking around with a straw stuck in his nose. His belongings and a blood-stained syringe were found in the restroom. Injection marks were also confirmed on his arm at the time of the arrest.
A field drug test on A returned a positive result for methamphetamine, and police said they plan to look into the exact circumstances of the alleged offense.
