DAEJEON — The Daejeon branch of the Korea Freedom League said on the 21st that it carried out litter collection and cleanup work around Seodaejeon Park in the city's Jung District, together with its Daejeon volunteer committee.
Five local chapters under the Daejeon branch also handed out holiday dishes and songpyeon, a traditional rice cake, ahead of the Chuseok holiday. Members of the branch's youth and women's groups served meals from a mobile food truck to about 500 older residents at the east plaza of Daejeon Station.
"At a time when everyone is struggling, we will work to communicate with Daejeon residents and stand shoulder to shoulder with neighbors in need, building a brighter and cleaner society that can offer hope to those left on the margins," said Yoon Jun-ho, head of the Korea Freedom League's Daejeon branch.
