Seoul's Jung-gu District is running a training program to certify middle-aged and older job seekers as cleaning specialists skilled in operating cleaning machinery.
The district is recruiting 20 job seekers aged 40 to 70 through Oct. 2, giving priority to Jung-gu residents.
The training runs for two days, Oct. 15 to 16. Participants will learn basic cleaning theory and safety rules, and get hands-on practice with equipment and tools used in the field, including floor polishers, scrapers and squeegees.
Graduates will be given priority interviews with cleaning companies hiring at the district's job fair on Oct. 28. The program was first launched in 2024, and over the past two years 54 people have completed it and 13 have found jobs.
