A mother who jumped into the sea to save her children did not survive.
Three members of a family fell into the water in waters near the "Mysterious Sea Road" in Jindo County, Jeollanam-do, at about 1:51 p.m. on the 12th, according to fire authorities on the 13th.
The mother is reported to have gone into the water after her two sons fell in while they were playing, and she was caught in the accident as well.
The 3-year-old son and the mother were taken to a nearby hospital in cardiac arrest but later died. The 6-year-old son, who was also rescued, is being treated for hypothermia. The coast guard is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
