
A drunk driver struck several pedestrians near a nightclub in Seoul's Cheongdam-dong neighborhood in Gangnam District, injuring four people.
Seoul's Gangnam Police Station has booked a woman in her 30s, identified only by her surname, on charges including causing injury through dangerous driving under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents, police said on the 13th.
The woman is accused of driving a sport utility vehicle while intoxicated on a road in front of a Cheongdam-dong club at around 11 p.m. the previous day, hitting a curb and then striking pedestrians nearby in succession.
Four people were injured and taken to hospitals, including a man in his 20s who suffered serious injuries.
The woman's blood alcohol level at the time of the accident was at a level that warrants license suspension, according to the investigation.
Police are questioning the woman to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and the drunk driving.
