Firefighters battled a blaze at a cooking academy in Seoul's Jongno district on the 14th.
The fire broke out at about 12:09 p.m. at a cooking academy on the seventh floor of a building in Jongno 2-ga, Jongno district, according to fire authorities.
Fire authorities deployed 103 personnel and 31 pieces of equipment after receiving the report. One person was injured and five others inside the building evacuated on their own. Property damage is still being assessed.
Authorities contained the main blaze at about 12:28 p.m. and are continuing to search for anyone still inside and to extinguish remaining hot spots. They also called in city gas officials to shut off the gas supply at the scene.
Fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of property damage.
