YEONGAM — HD Hyundai Samho has been recognized for contributing to the development of the electrical industry and the spread of a safety culture.
The company received a Prime Minister's Award at the 2026 Korea Electrical Safety Awards, held the previous day at The May Hotel in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, HD Hyundai Samho said on the 9th.
HD Hyundai Samho secured a power reserve margin by adding a 154-kilovolt transformer. It also strengthened the foundation for higher production capacity. The company was also credited for expanding its power receiving and substation facilities in line with the 2024 completion of its second Dolphin quay. The move amounted to building out power supply infrastructure ahead of demand.
"A stable power supply and electrical safety are core elements of a shipbuilding site," an HD Hyundai Samho official said. "We will continue to do our utmost to secure electrical facilities and manage safety."
The Korea Electrical Safety Awards are in their 28th year. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation. It identifies and honors those who have contributed to preventing electrical accidents and establishing a culture of safety management.
