Seoul's Yangcheon-gu is running "Youth Theater on the Move," a free movie screening program for senior citizens, at 10 locations including senior welfare centers and general social welfare centers within the district.
Residents aged 60 and older can use the program without separate registration. A variety of films, including nostalgic classics, comedies, and dramas, are screened at least once a month.
This year, the district organized its film lineup through a prior preference survey to reflect seniors' tastes. During heat wave periods, families with children can also use the program together.
The district expects Youth Theater to serve not only as a movie screening but also as a cultural refuge from the summer heat and a community gathering place that fosters communication among neighbors.
