A delegation from the Philippine judiciary, led by Philippine Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, visited Korea's Supreme Court.
Korea's Chief Justice Jo Hee-de met with the Philippine chief justice the previous day to discuss the direction of electronic litigation development in both countries, focusing on the Philippine Supreme Court's plan to advance its digital transformation, the Supreme Court said Friday.
Jo shared the Korean judiciary's experience in judicial informatization, including electronic litigation and the use of artificial intelligence (AI), along with plans for international judicial exchange and cooperation between the two countries' judiciaries. Gesmundo asked about how the Korean judiciary overcame difficulties in the early stages of electronic litigation, its guidelines for using AI, and measures to address hallucination.
"This visit will serve as an opportunity for the two countries' judiciaries to expand areas of international cooperation, establish cooperation channels in electronic litigation and judicial digital transformation, and seek measures for regular cooperation to solidify sustainable exchange," a Supreme Court official said.
The Philippine judiciary's visit to Korea was to attend an interim report meeting of the Knowledge Sharing Program organized by the Korea Development Institute (KDI), with the theme of advancing the Philippine electronic litigation system.
