Gwangju Bank has drawn attention by unveiling a savings product offering a top annual interest rate of 3.50 percent, timed to the launch of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City on Sunday and carrying the meaning of regional cooperation and harmony.
The "Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City Sarang Deposit," launched by Gwangju Bank, was created to commemorate the historic moment of Jeonnam and Gwangju newly launching as a single special city.
The product is available to individuals and sole proprietors, with a subscription period of 13 months. The deposit amount ranges from 1 million won to 500 million won, and customers can subscribe through Gwangju Bank branches, the Gwangju Wa Bank app, and mobile web banking.
Preferential rates include an annual 0.20 percentage point bonus celebrating the launch of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City, and an annual 0.10 percentage point bonus for customers holding the Jeonnam-Gwangju Special City Sarang account (a deposit and withdrawal product). Adding the preferential rates to the base rate yields a top annual rate of 3.50 percent (base rate of 3.20 percent annually).
To mark the product launch, Gwangju Bank personally visited customers who have long supported local commercial districts near its branches, sharing the joy of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City's launch with local residents.
"The Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City Sarang Deposit was created to commemorate the new beginning of Jeonnam and Gwangju and to build a hopeful future together with local residents," said Park Dae-ha, Deputy President of Gwangju Bank. "We will continue to introduce various financial services that can grow alongside the local community."
