Yong Hye-in, the nominee for minister of gender equality and family, will hold a press conference on the 13th.
The Basic Income Party said in a notice to reporters that Yong will speak at 11:30 a.m. that day at the National Assembly's press center.
Nominated on Aug. 30, Yong has faced calls to step down from both opposition lawmakers and some members of the ruling bloc, amid controversy over holding a cabinet post while serving as a proportional representation lawmaker.
At a press conference on the 10th, Yong signaled an intent to press ahead, saying that "a National Assembly member concurrently serving as a state minister is a principle permitted by law."
With pressure to resign intensifying, attention is now on whether Yong will address her future in the post at the press conference.
