South Korea will host the 2026 Sacheon Air Show in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, in October, featuring flight displays by the KF-21 fighter jet and the air force's Black Eagles aerobatic team.
The Air Force said on the 7th that it will hold the four-day event at Sacheon Air Base from Oct. 22 to 25, jointly with South Gyeongsang Province, the city of Sacheon and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI).
The show began in 2004 as the Sacheon Aerospace Industry Festival, was renamed the Gyeongnam Sacheon Aerospace Expo in 2010 and has carried its current name since 2016.
The Black Eagles, the Air Force's special flight team, will perform advanced aerobatic routines every day from the opening to the closing of the event. Demonstration flights by air force aircraft including the KF-21 are also planned, along with a performance by Australian civilian aerobatic team Paul Bennet.
On the ground, visitors will be able to see air force aircraft and equipment up close. The program also includes military band and honor guard performances, high-altitude parachute jumps and a combat search-and-rescue demonstration.
The 2026 Aerospace and Defense Industry Exhibition will run alongside the air show, together with Dream Day, which offers hands-on experience of air force jobs, and a drone competition open to the public.
Organizers will require visitors to register in advance for safety reasons. Those planning to attend can sign up on the official Sacheon Air Show website from the 7th through Oct. 25.
