President Lee Jae-myung on the 27th called for an all-out response to the disappearance of nine South Korean nationals in flooding in north-central Nepal, saying, "There is no such thing as an excessive response when it comes to protecting the lives and safety of our citizens, and everyone must mobilize all available resources and do their utmost with that resolve."
Lee made the remarks while presiding over an emergency meeting on the damage to South Korean nationals at the Foreign Ministry building in Seoul's Jongno district. "With the Foreign Ministry at the center, mobilize all available personnel and resources — related ministries, the embassy on the ground, the rapid response team currently en route, and even our companies operating there," he said.
