The Presidential Office said on the 25th that Korean companies and global big tech firms have agreed to pursue semiconductor cooperation totaling $950 billion, or approximately 1,375 trillion won, on the occasion of the "San Francisco AI Summit" attended by President Lee Jae-myung. They also agreed to pursue cooperation on AI data center investments involving 2 million GPUs. Hyundai Motor agreed to jointly build an "AI Robot Reference Platform" with Nvidia, and announced an autonomous vehicle foundry plan with Waymo.
Kim Yong-beom, head of the Presidential Office's Policy Office, held a briefing at a local press center in San Francisco, the United States, that day and disclosed the major cooperation achievements made in the fields of semiconductors, AI data centers, and physical AI. Hyundai Motor agreed to jointly build an "AI Robot Reference Platform" with Nvidia, and announced an autonomous vehicle foundry plan with Waymo. Samsung SDS and Anthropic signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly develop new AI markets while cultivating AI engineers together.
SK will conduct long-term supply cooperation for advanced memory semiconductors worth $750 billion (1,085 trillion won) with global big tech firms including Nvidia over the next five years. SK Telecom will pursue the construction and expansion of an AI data center of up to 2GW with Nvidia.
"The AI Summit was arranged to combine the technology and capital of global big tech with Korea's capabilities across the entire AI ecosystem — not only semiconductors but also AI infrastructure, models, and physical AI — to create investment and cooperation achievements across the full AI stack," Kim said.
In addition, Samsung Electronics and Broadcom signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on foundry cooperation for the supply of advanced memory semiconductors and the production of AI chips worth $200 billion (290 trillion won) over the next five years, and Naver signed a strategic investment agreement with Nvidia.
