Hanmi Group promoted six executives who delivered results in obesity and metabolic disease drug development, global technology licensing, and its medical device business. The move marks the first executive reshuffle under CEO Hwang Sang-yeon, who took office earlier this year.
Hanmi Group said Tuesday it carried out its second-half regular executive reshuffle, with three promotions at holding company Hanmi Science and three at operating company Hanmi Pharmaceutical. The company explained that this first regular executive reshuffle since the launch of its professional management system placed emphasis on performance, expertise, and future growth potential.
At Hanmi Pharmaceutical, Executive Vice Presidents Kim Na-young and Choi In-young were promoted to Vice President. Choi Jae-hyuk, group leader of the Obesity Metabolism Center in the Future Growth Division, was appointed director. At Hanmi Science, Shin Jun-seop, a senior managing director, was promoted to executive director; Maeng Ji-woong, a deputy managing director, to managing director; and Lee Jun-won, a director, to deputy managing director.
Vice President Kim Na-young was recognized for establishing the commercialization strategy for the "H.O.P (Hanmi Obesity Pipeline)" project, Hanmi Pharmaceutical's growth strategy in obesity and metabolic disease, and for strengthening its market entry foundation. Director Choi Jae-hyuk has participated in research and development of core pipelines, including the H.O.P project, at the Obesity Metabolism Center.
Vice President Choi In-young and Managing Director Maeng Ji-woong led next-generation drug development and global business development. They are credited with contributing to technology licensing results and strengthening research and development competitiveness based on Hanmi Pharmaceutical's long-acting platform "Lapscovery."
Executive Director Shin Jun-seop grew the medical device business in the Healthcare Division and expanded its business portfolio. Deputy Managing Director Lee Jun-won was included among those promoted for leading the medical device planning team and overseeing new business and product strategy as well as operational efficiency.
"We carried out performance-based promotions centered on talent capable of strengthening core growth engines such as global drug development, technology licensing, and new healthcare businesses," a Hanmi Group official said.
