HDC Hyundai Development (294870) inspected accident prevention measures and emergency response systems at its construction sites ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
Chief Executive Jung Kyung-koo and other senior executives visited the Cityo'siel Complex 8 construction site in Michuhol District, Incheon, on the 18th to review safety and health management conditions, the company said on the 21st. Chief Safety Officer Yang Seung-chul and Kang Min-seok, head of the building division, also joined the inspection.
Excavation, ground improvement and underground frame work are currently under way at the Cityo'siel Complex 8 site. With high-risk operations concentrated in this phase, the company focused on whether safety rules were being observed at each stage of construction and on how the site is managed.
"Sites must be managed thoroughly to prepare for any emergency that could arise during the four-day Chuseok holiday," the CEO said. "I thank the employees working to keep our sites safe through the holiday, and I ask you to do your utmost on safety management so that everyone can work with peace of mind."
HDC Hyundai Development is also strengthening on-site safety management using artificial intelligence and digital transformation technology. Drones check hazards across sites in real time, while a vital-signs check kiosk and an integrated closed-circuit television control center provide continuous monitoring of workers and work areas. Smart safety equipment such as intelligent video detection cameras and wearable airbags is also in use. The company said it will continue regular executive site inspections and management of high-risk processes, and will expand the scope of AI- and digital-transformation-based safety technology.
