Booyoung Group said on Sept. 16 that it is delivering holiday gifts to senior centers at its apartment complexes nationwide and to employees of its partner companies ahead of Chuseok, the Korean autumn harvest holiday.
The group is sending 233 fruit gift sets to senior centers at 85 Booyoung apartment complexes under its management, and food gift sets to a total of 3,435 people, including 2,214 management office staff and 1,221 workers from service contractors handling security and cleaning.
"We prepared this small token to wish good health to the elders who have led our local communities and to thank the partner company employees who work quietly on the front lines," a Booyoung Group official said.
Beyond contributing to housing stability through its core rental housing business, Booyoung Group supports rent-free "Booyoung Daycare Centers" within its complexes. It also pays an exceptional childbirth incentive of 100 million won per child to employees, part of its social responsibility efforts to address the country's declining births.
Chairman Lee Joong-keun, who serves as head of the Korean Senior Citizens Association and the United Nations Association of the Republic of Korea, has sought solutions for a super-aged society and proposed designating "U.N. Day" as a national holiday to commemorate peace and prosperity in South Korea.
Booyoung Group has continued philanthropic activities across a range of areas, including donations of educational and cultural facilities, scholarship programs and disaster relief contributions. Its social contribution activities have reached 1.22 trillion won to date, establishing it as a model company in ESG management.
