Coupang said on the 15th that it is running a Rocket Fresh promotion on Chuseok gift sets and holiday foods through the 25th of this month.
The company is operating three themed sections for the event — a main deals section, a gift set section and a grocery section — offering a range of products and discounts.
The lineup includes some 1,100 gift sets, spanning fruit, meat and seafood as well as dried persimmons, mushrooms, ginseng, grains, ham and processed meats, rice cakes, bakery goods and beverages. Coupang has also stocked some 3,700 food items needed for holiday tables and family gatherings, including songpyeon rice cakes, jeon pancakes and dumplings, bringing the total to about 4,800 products.
Roughly 200 brands and companies are taking part, including Nonghyup Ansim Hanwoo, Idong Galbi, Vecchia e Nuovo, Shilla Bakery and Samjin Fish Cake. The assortment ranges from value items priced under 30,000 won to premium gift sets of 100,000 won or more.
Featured products include a Nonghyup Ansim Hanwoo 1++ grade gift set, a Nonghyup Ansim Hanwoo grade 1 gift set, a Freshine Chungju GAP-certified sweetness-sorted apple gift set and a mixed apple-and-pear gift set.
Shoppers buying promotional items receive instant discounts, and select products carry card discounts of up to 10%. Coupon discounts are also tiered by purchase amount: 10,000 won on purchases of 100,000 won or more, 25,000 won on purchases of 200,000 won or more and 45,000 won on purchases of 300,000 won or more. The coupons can be combined with other discounts.
A Coupang official said the company has "prepared a wide range of products for Chuseok, from premium gift sets for expressing gratitude to value items and the foods needed for holiday meals," adding that it hopes "customers will find it easier and more affordable to prepare for Chuseok through the various discounts and Rocket Fresh's convenient delivery service."
