BERLIN — Samsung Electronics (005930) and LG Electronics (066570) each won innovation awards at IFA 2026, Europe's largest consumer electronics show, which opened in Berlin on the 4th, showcasing their technology and design capabilities.
Samsung Electronics placed four products on the awards list, while LG Electronics placed seven. LG Electronics also won Best Brand, the top honor of the IFA Innovation Awards.
Samsung Electronics took four awards at IFA 2026: one Best of Innovation in the design category, one innovation award in design, and two innovation awards in the home appliance category.
Among them, the Bespoke AI WindFree Combo Pro wall-mounted air conditioner won twice, taking Best of Innovation in design and an innovation award in home appliances. Judges praised its design for blending into living spaces, with a restrained flat front panel and the ultra-precision micro-holes central to the WindFree function placed along the bottom.
The Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator won an innovation award in design, and the Bespoke AI Hybrid 4-Door Kitchen Fit Max refrigerator won an innovation award in home appliances. Both drew attention for AI-based personalized features and designs that improve use of space.
LG Electronics won seven product awards, including Best Brand, the top prize in the home entertainment category and the top prize in the audio category.
Best Brand, created last year as the highest brand honor of the IFA Innovation Awards, is given for overall brand excellence, judged on technological innovation, market influence and design.
The top prizes in home entertainment and audio went to the LG Signature OLED W, a next-generation wallpaper TV, and the LG Sound Suite AI home audio system. The LG Signature OLED W was recognized for its ultra-slim design of about 9 millimeters and its wireless transmission technology, while the LG Sound Suite AI was cited for technology that automatically detects speaker positions in a room to deliver optimized surround sound.
Five other products won awards of excellence: the LG OLED evo AI, the LG Micro RGB TV, the LG Mini RGB TV, the LG StanbyME 2 Max and the LG xboom Stage 501.
