S-OIL (010950.KS) brought together operators of its gas stations and charging stations at a baseball stadium to strengthen customer engagement, marking the refiner's 50th anniversary.
The company said on the 27th that it hosted "S-OIL Sponsor Day" at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on the 26th, inviting owners of its gas stations and charging stations. S-OIL has run joint marketing with the KT Wiz baseball club for five years to deepen ties with customers and raise brand familiarity.
This year, to mark the company's 50th anniversary, about 80 people attended, including Chief Executive Officer Anwar Al-Hejazi, Marketing Division President Ahn Jong-beom and station operators, who watched the game together and reinforced their business partnership.
Ahn threw the ceremonial first pitch before the game. He wore a jersey with the number 951, a reference to Gudoil, the S-OIL mascot.
On-site events were also held for spectators. Gudoil and another mascot, Gumiso, moved through the stands and cheering platforms, leading chants with fans. They interacted directly with baseball fans through dances, performances and games, lifting the mood at the ballpark.
"With this year marking our 50th anniversary, it was all the more meaningful to communicate more closely with customers and offer baseball fans a friendly brand experience," an S-OIL official said.
