No Brand Burger, operated by Shinsegae Food, said on the 27th that it will raise prices on some menu items by an average of 2.5% starting on the 28th of this month. It is the first increase in about a year and four months, following the last price hike in April of last year.
Prices for 22 burger items sold individually and as combo meals, including value-oriented staples such as the Amazing Double and the Amazing Double Cheese, will rise by 100 to 400 won, while some side menu items will go up by 100 to 200 won. The Amazing Bulgogi burger, which drew attention as the cheapest burger in the industry, will increase to 2,700 won from 2,500 won.
The company said it is keeping prices unchanged on 28 items, including side dishes and beverages, in consideration of the burden on consumers. "We have absorbed as much of the cost increases as possible on our own through stronger purchasing power for raw materials and more efficient operations, but we have adjusted prices on some items to respond to continued increases in raw and subsidiary material prices, logistics costs and other overall expenses," an official at No Brand Burger said. "We minimized the scope of the adjustment by taking into account both the burden on customers and stable operating conditions for our franchisees."
