Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) said on the 26th that it donated 30 million won to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to help repair damage from torrential rains in Geoje and Tongyeong, South Gyeongsang Province.
The state-run casino operator approved the donation at a meeting of its social value committee the same day to support the affected areas and residents. The money will be used for emergency relief supplies and to restore housing.
Last year, GKL and the GKL Social Contribution Foundation donated a combined 160 million won for recovery from wildfires and heavy rains in the Yeongnam region. In July this year, the company gave 20 million won to the Korean Red Cross for earthquake relief in Venezuela.
"We hope the recovery is completed as soon as possible so that residents can return to their daily lives," GKL President Yoon Doo-hyun said.
