LOTTE ON, the e-commerce platform of Lotte Shopping, said Wednesday it is holding the "Run Trip Discount: ON" event together with the Korea Tourism Organization, combining running and travel.
The event is a government-supported promotion designed to boost stay-type tourism outside the greater Seoul area. "Run trip" is a new way of traveling that involves participating in marathons or running events, or enjoying running at travel destinations.
In line with the trend of enjoying running as a key travel activity, LOTTE ON is introducing stay-type travel products that allow travelers to stay for one or more nights in regions across the country while also experiencing local tourism.
Featured products include the "Santiago 12 Apostles Pilgrimage Trail," which tours islands such as Daegijeomdo, Sogijeomdo, Soakdo, Jinseom, and Ttanseom in Sinan County, South Jeolla Province; the "Marado Silent Run Trip," which combines Marado local cuisine, guesthouses, and a silent running course; and the "Gangwon Province Running Trip," which offers running at Gangwon Province's signature spots including the Songjiho Trail and Yeongnangho. The platform currently operates 14 products and plans to continue expanding offerings that highlight regional characteristics.
During the event, LOTTE ON is offering a 30% Run Trip-exclusive coupon worth up to 50,000 won in discounts. It also prepared a 5% instant discount and a 5% payment discount, and the exclusive coupon can be used up to three times per person. The event runs until the end of November. It may close early if the budget is exhausted.
"As demand for enjoying a healthy lifestyle together with travel has recently grown, run trips are establishing themselves as a new travel trend," said Lee Tae-rae, head of the travel culture team at LOTTE ON. "We will continue to introduce various stay-type travel products linked to regional tourism to provide customers with new travel experiences."
