Lotte Chemical (011170.KS) said Monday it had won two awards at the "2026 Red Dot Design Award," one of the world's three major design awards.
The Red Dot Design Award is a globally prestigious international design prize established in Germany in 1955. It is regarded as one of the world's three major design awards, alongside Germany's iF and the United States' IDEA.
This year, Lotte Chemical won two awards in the "Materials and Surfaces" category of the "Design Concept" division.
The winning work "Soft Robotics" is a robotics-specialized design that implements the emotional interaction between humans and robots through material design. The other winning work, "Bit Plus," combines plastic material with recycled particles made from repurposed aircraft components, meeting global environmental regulations and human safety standards.
Since 2015, Lotte Chemical has recorded a total of 28 wins at the world's three major design awards.
"This award is the result of actively introducing artificial intelligence (AI) agents specialized in design perspectives to maximize the functionality, aesthetics, and emotional appeal of materials," Lotte Chemical said. "Based on close communication with customers, we plan to provide intelligent integrated solutions that combine materials, design, and AI."
