LG (003550) will launch a new youth vocational training program called "Let's Grow with LG" in the second half of this year to develop 1,000 hands-on industry professionals. As part of the K-New Deal Academy project overseen by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the program aims to support rapid employment for young people through practice-oriented training at the level of new hires.
According to LG on the 26th, the Let's Grow with LG program will be led by three affiliates: LG Electronics (066570), LG Chem (051910), and LG Display. Systematic job training and hands-on projects will be conducted based on professional capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI), production and manufacturing, and digital marketing. Half of the total enrollment, or 500 people, will be allocated to non-capital region hubs such as Daejeon, Daegu, Busan, and Yeosu, providing balanced educational opportunities for young people in the regions.
Customized training by affiliate also draws attention. LG Electronics, which will recruit the largest group of 700 people, will conduct AI and smart factory job training at four locations: Pyeongtaek in Gyeonggi Province, Daejeon, Daegu, and Busan. Participants will also carry out hands-on AI Transformation (AX) projects that analyze customer data to solve real-world business problems.
LG Chem will select 200 people and teach petrochemical and bio business practices in Osan, Gyeonggi Province, and Yeosu, South Jeolla Province. The plan includes business automation training based on AI coding, leading up to the acquisition of an in-house AX expert certification. LG Display, which will train 100 people in Paju, will focus its capabilities on specialized training in display manufacturing technology—a national advanced industry—and on developing convergent practical talent who will lead the future manufacturing environment.
The three companies will also offer tailored programs that provide immediate help for job seekers, including job exploration, mentoring from senior employees, resume consulting, and mock interviews. The move reflects the management philosophy of LG Group Chairman Kwang-mo Koo, who has long emphasized that "talent is the source of national competitiveness." LG plans to continue diverse support to strengthen youth capabilities going forward, including programs such as Aimers and Superstart.
