South Korea will see mostly cloudy skies on Thursday, the 24th, the first day of the Chuseok holiday, with a wide gap between daytime and nighttime temperatures.
Morning lows are forecast at 14 to 19 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs of 26 to 30 C. The difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures will be as much as 10 to 15 degrees, requiring caution for health.
Expected morning lows in major cities are 19 C in Seoul, 19 C in Incheon, 15 C in Chuncheon, 18 C in Gangneung, 17 C in Daejeon, 18 C in Daegu, 18 C in Jeonju, 19 C in Gwangju, 19 C in Busan and 22 C in Jeju.
Daytime highs are 28 C in Seoul, 27 C in Incheon, 27 C in Chuncheon, 28 C in Gangneung, 28 C in Daejeon, 30 C in Daegu, 28 C in Jeonju, 30 C in Gwangju, 29 C in Busan and 27 C in Jeju.
Dense fog will form in some western areas from before dawn through the morning, centered on inland Gyeonggi Province, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon State, the Chungcheong region and the Jeolla region. From late at night, light rain will fall on the northern east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon State.
Waves will run 0.5 to 1.5 meters in coastal waters of the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 meters in coastal waters of the West Sea.
In the nearer offshore waters, waves are expected at 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea.
