Lotte Hotels & Resorts said on the 22nd that Signiel Seoul and Signiel Busan were both named Michelin 2 Keys hotels this year, repeating their showing from last year. Signiel is the only domestic hotel brand whose properties have all earned two Michelin Keys for two consecutive years.
The 2026 Michelin Guide Hotel Selection, released recently, picks recommended hotels based on five criteria: architecture and design, service, individual character, value for the experience offered, and connection to the local area. Hotels delivering an outstanding stay receive one to three Michelin Keys, with a higher number indicating a higher rating. This year the guide recommended 55 hotels in South Korea and awarded Keys to nine of them.
At Signiel Seoul, which retained its two Keys, foreign guests rose about 20% in July and August from a year earlier, while room sales climbed about 15%. Located on the 76th through 101st floors of Lotte World Tower, the hotel offers views of central Seoul and the Han River. The Michelin Guide highlighted its panoramic views, spa and lounge.
Foreign guests at Signiel Busan also increased about 60% in July and August from a year earlier. Chao Lan, the hotel's Chinese restaurant, has been listed as a Michelin Guide Selected Restaurant for three straight years from 2024 through this year. Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, meanwhile, was upgraded to two Keys this year from one Key last year.
Separately, Art Paradiso at Paradise City, Shilla Seoul, Josun Palace, Fairmont Ambassador Seoul and JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa all kept the one Key they received last year. Yuwonjae in Suanbo, Chungju, was awarded one Key for the first time this year.
