Seoul Shilla Hotel said on the 27th that it will run a package combining traditional Korean music crossover performances with a Korean dinner at its Yeong Bin Gwan guest house from the 24th to the 26th of next month, during the Chuseok holiday. The package is called Heritage Collection - Full Moon.
Second Moon, a band that has blended Korean traditional music with world music, will perform on all three nights. Pansori singer Oh Dan-hae takes the stage on the 24th, followed by Yoo Tae-pyung-yang on the 25th and Kim Jun-su on the 26th. Second Moon has reinterpreted traditional music with contemporary sound through pansori projects including "Chunhyangga" and "Paldo Yuram."
The event opens with a welcome drink reception, followed by a dinner buffet and the music performance. The dinner centers on Korean dishes, including grilled short ribs, steamed abalone and shrimp, and ssambap. Alcohol pairings, including makgeolli, are also offered.
The package includes one night in a guest room, the dinner buffet, the music performance and access to the outdoor pool Urban Island. The performance and dinner take place in the inner courtyard of Yeong Bin Gwan.
Yeong Bin Gwan, where the event is held, is Seoul Shilla Hotel's traditional-style building. Built in 1967 for major state events, it has since been used as a venue for receptions welcoming prominent domestic and foreign guests.
