Turing, a developer of reasoning artificial intelligence agents, said on Sept. 22 that it has added three features to GPAI, its AI app for college students: question generation, an AI drive and slide deck creation.
The update is the first product of a vision the company laid out early this month when it closed a Series B funding round: AI for every college student in the world, regardless of major. The aim is to support the entire academic workflow — from organizing lecture materials to preparing for exams and presentations — within a single service.
The AI drive lets students manage lecture materials, notes and assignment files in one place, then use those files to ask the AI questions, write reports, work through practice problems or build slide decks. The question generation feature creates practice questions of the same type and difficulty based on past exams or textbook examples. The slide creation feature automatically generates presentation slides when a user enters a topic or supporting material.
The new features also use what the company calls open-form interaction, which lets users review and choose a direction before the AI produces a finished result rather than generating everything at once. When building a deck, users can review the outline first and revise the order and content; when generating questions, they can select the type and difficulty.
Turing plans to keep refining the features following this release. It will also add a function linking the AI drive to university course portals and continue expanding coverage beyond the 25 Korean universities currently supported.
"This release is the first product of our vision to build AI that every college student needs, regardless of major," said Shin Ji-eun and Kim Ji-yoon, co-chief executives of Turing. "We will keep expanding the features so that GPAI alone can handle the entire academic process of university life, from organizing lecture materials to preparing for exams and presentations."
