KT (030200.KS) is teaming up with Hyundai Motor (005380.KS) to develop an artificial intelligence-based safety system for children's shuttle buses.
KT said on the 2nd that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Hyundai Motor, specialty vehicle maker MTR and Kidsnote, an operator of a smart communication platform for daycare centers, to develop a safe boarding and drop-off solution for children's shuttle buses. The companies will link vehicle data with shuttle operation services to build a system that tracks the entire process, from boarding to transit to drop-off. They plan to apply AI, ultra-wideband (UWB) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technologies to enable functions including detection of children left inside vehicles, real-time location sharing, automatic confirmation of boarding and drop-off with alerts to guardians, in-vehicle safety monitoring and automated driving logs.
