Kolon Life Science has published its "2025 Sustainability Report," outlining its ESG management achievements and future strategy.
According to the company Wednesday, this second report — following its first sustainability report last year — details changes and implementation directions across its overall business operations, including concrete carbon neutrality plans, strengthened supply chain ESG management, an overhauled responsible sourcing system, and an advanced compliance framework.
In the environmental area, Kolon Life Science further specified its mid- to long-term carbon reduction roadmap and set a mid-term goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1+2) by 5% by 2030 compared with 2024. The company also said it would build eco-friendly workplaces by continuously innovating its environmental management systems across production and operations.
The company also strengthened its supply chain management framework. It established a supplier code of conduct policy, laying the groundwork to improve ESG standards among partners in areas such as ethics, the environment, and human rights. Through this, the company raised the overall management level of its supply chain while building a foundation to systematically respond to the ESG requirements of internal and external stakeholders and global clients.
To overhaul its responsible sourcing system, the report newly reflects content related to the procurement of conflict minerals and extended minerals. The company clarified its principle of not using conflict minerals and presented a responsible sourcing system for extended minerals, including the use of recycled copper.
In the governance and compliance area, the report includes achievements from its ISO 37001 (anti-bribery management system) and ISO 37301 (compliance management system) certifications obtained last August. Through these, the company advanced its anti-corruption and compliance systems to international standards and further strengthened the transparency and reliability of its business operations.
Kolon Life Science plans to advance the management framework of key ESG areas — including environmental response, supply chain management, responsible sourcing, and compliance — to further enhance the operational capabilities required by the global market and clients.
"Sustainable management is a management standard that companies must have to grow over the long term," said Lee Han-kook, CEO of Kolon Life Science. "We will strengthen our responsible sourcing and supply chain management capabilities and continuously reinforce our R&D, quality, and compliance systems to further enhance trust and competitiveness across our business."
