Naver Pay is upgrading its service beyond simple property listings into a lifestyle-focused real estate platform that incorporates interior design, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital twin technology.
According to the information technology (IT) industry Friday, Naver Pay opened a new "Interior" section within its real estate service early this month. The feature links and displays interior construction cases registered on the real estate platform Asil.
Users can view information segmented by floor area, space, and construction type, and can immediately request quotes from contractors. For complexes without data, "recommended portfolios" with similar conditions are provided.
Search convenience on the property map has also been significantly improved. A net floor area filter has been added, and searches by entrance structure, such as staircase-type and corridor-type, are now possible. In addition, information on nearby lifestyle amenities such as academies, department stores, and pharmacies, as well as commercial facilities and pre-sale complex information, can be viewed at a glance on the map.
The "Real Estate VR (virtual reality) Listing and Complex Tour" service, which uses three-dimensional (3D) technology, is also expanding its coverage. As a kind of "online site visit" function that allows users to explore complexes and property interiors online, it is characterized by providing specific information that can only be obtained by visiting the site in person, such as the location of each building, sunlight exposure by season and time of day, and detailed interior dimensions. It is also linked with property listings within complexes registered on Naver Pay Real Estate, allowing users to directly check listings registered for sale or jeonse (a Korean lease system requiring a large lump-sum deposit instead of monthly rent) and monthly rent by apartment building during the VR complex tour.
Naver Pay plans to expand the number of target complexes from about 280 currently to 600 by the end of this year. In the future, it plans to introduce "Dustr," an AI technology from Naver Labs that reconstructs a space in 3D using only two or three photos, upgrading the service so that users can create VR tour content themselves using only photos taken with their smartphones.
Changes have also been announced in how property listings are explored. Naver Pay plans to add a real estate search function to the "AI Tab," Naver's conversational search service, during the second half of the year. It intends to further enhance user convenience by introducing an "AI Home Finder" service that finds optimal listings when users enter desired conditions in natural language.
"We plan to continuously upgrade our real estate service by combining Naver's AI and digital twin technology," a Naver Pay official said. "We will improve our map service so that users can grasp all information at a glance from their PC and mobile devices at home, without having to visit the site in person."
