Meta has added Korean real-time translation to its "Ray-Ban Meta" and "Oakley Meta" artificial intelligence (AI) glasses, which launched in Korea in late May, the company said Friday. With the addition of 14 new languages, including Korean, the number of languages the Meta AI glasses translate in real time has increased from six to 20.
While wearing the AI glasses, users can now see and hear foreign speech translated into Korean in real time. The translated content is delivered by voice through the open-ear speakers built into the glasses. It can also be viewed as text in the Meta AI app.
Meta has also expanded the retail channels for the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta in Korea. The glasses can currently be purchased online through Meta's official website, and starting on the 22nd, they will also be sold through the official online stores of the three mobile carriers and at select retail outlets.
