Global network equipment maker Nokia has showcased its next-generation network technologies in step with the spreading demand for artificial intelligence (AI).
Nokia Korea held its "Amplify Korea 2026" event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul on Tuesday, introducing next-generation network technologies and global market trends aimed at responding to the expansion of AI.
At the event, held under the theme "Network Innovation Toward the AI Supercycle," Nokia gave presentations on the AI Radio Access Network (AI-RAN), global mobile network technology trends, and next-generation connectivity. The company presented a direction in which networks become intelligent and automated for the AI era.
"As the transition to an AI-based economy accelerates, the importance of intelligent, scalable and automated networks is growing," said Ahn Tae-ho, chief executive of Nokia Korea.
The venue also featured demonstrations where visitors could experience the latest technologies, including AI-based network operation technology and optical network solutions. Nokia demonstrated a method of operating mobile network functions and AI applications together on shared infrastructure through cloud-based AI-RAN technology. The company also introduced technology that simplifies network operations and boosts performance using AI-native and cloud-native architectures, while supporting ultra-low-latency AI services.
"As AI adoption spreads rapidly across all industries, networks are growing even more important as the core infrastructure supporting the AI supercycle," Ahn said. "Through continued innovation across our wired and wireless network infrastructure, we will actively support Korea's digital transformation goals and the realization of next-generation connectivity."
