Netmarble (251270) announced on the 17th that its multiplayer open-world RPG "The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin," released early on PlayStation 5 and Steam, entered the Steam global sales rankings at No. 6 immediately after launch.
"The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin" ranked in the top tier of Steam sales charts across multiple countries: No. 1 in France; No. 2 in Belgium, Italy, and Spain; No. 4 in Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands; No. 5 in Korea, Japan, the UK, Brazil, Denmark, and Thailand; No. 7 in Hong Kong; and No. 11 in the United States. PlayStation 5 users worldwide gave the game a rating of 4.35 out of 5 points.
Netmarble plans to expand service to mobile platforms on the 24th with a global grand launch.
The new title is a multiplayer open-world RPG based on the intellectual property of the popular manga "The Seven Deadly Sins," which has recorded cumulative global sales of 55 million copies. The game has been praised for adding a multiverse setting to the original worldview, providing an original story that anyone can easily enjoy with deep immersion.
The launch version features 18 heroes in total, including popular characters from the original work such as Meliodas, Tristan, Diane, and King, as well as original characters exclusive to this title. Users can explore key locations from the source material, including Liones Castle, the Fairy King's Forest, and Baste Prison, experiencing life within the anime world firsthand.
Combat emphasizes strategy through a system where players form teams of four heroes and switch characters according to the situation. Combat styles vary depending on hero and weapon combinations, and the fun of battle is maximized through "Harmony Skills," cooperative techniques between characters. The game also offers multiplayer content where players can party with friends in the open world for adventures or challenge powerful bosses together.
To celebrate the new release, Netmarble is providing in-game rewards including approximately 59,000 Star Fragments and 90 regular hero summon tickets. Through launch celebration events, the company plans to offer additional rewards including SSR-grade hero "Gilra," SSR Black Flame Wing Lance, SSR crafted weapon selection box, 60 regular hero summon tickets, 10 pickup hero summon tickets, and 4,300 Star Fragments.
