R2G, a golf brand drawing attention for its differentiated technology and innovative design, launched MATE X, a next-generation golf rangefinder that attaches to smartphones, on Friday.

MATE X's biggest innovation lies in its hardware structure and the introduction of AI technology. It adopts a new form factor that attaches easily to the back of a smartphone with a magnet. This allows golfers to use their smartphone's bright, clear 6-inch-or-larger screen as a large viewfinder, enabling them to assess field conditions more comfortably.
The product supports iOS first, and a version compatible with Android smartphones is scheduled to launch in August.
MATE AI measurement, the core feature, learns from vast amounts of pin data based on deep-learning technology, offering overwhelming convenience by automatically recognizing and measuring only the pin without interference from surrounding obstacles. The measurement method is also designed to let users freely choose from a total of three modes tailored to their playing style: △MATE AI mode △voice measurement mode △basic button measurement mode.
In addition, it is equipped with ultra-precise GPS to accurately track a golfer's location in real time, and it supports flawless play based on high-precision yardage data from more than 43,000 courses worldwide. Other features of MATE X include slope-adjusted distance, a club recommendation function based on wind direction and speed information, and an aiming guide that helps with precise tee shots and putting.
