Park Min-ji (28, NH Investment & Securities), who built a milestone of 20 career wins on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, is challenging for new history. The stage is the Celltrion Queens Masters, where she has enjoyed the joy of victory for four consecutive years.
Park will compete in the KLPGA Tour Celltrion Queens Masters (total prize money 1.5 billion won), held over three days starting Thursday at Seongmunan Country Club (par 72) in Wonju, Gangwon Province. In the tournament featuring a total of 120 players, Park is aiming for the tour's all-time record of 21 wins.
With her victory at the previous tournament, the Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women's Open, Park achieved 20 career wins, becoming the third player in KLPGA history to do so after the late Ku Ok-hee and Shin Ji-yai. The win also lifted her world ranking by 57 spots to No. 104. If she wins this tournament, she will become the holder of the tour's all-time record for most wins.
She also has good chemistry with the Celltrion Queens Masters. Park claimed the title at this tournament for four consecutive years from 2021 to 2024. It is the only four-peat at a single tournament on the KLPGA Tour. She also holds the tournament records for the lowest score (15-under-par 201) and the youngest winner (22 years, 9 months and 3 days). If she wins this year, she will record the tour's first five wins at a single tournament, along with becoming the season's first multiple-win player.
Defending champion Lee Ga-young also joins the title race. On an upswing with top-10 finishes in her last two tournaments, she is challenging to defend her title. Lee Dong-eun, who is playing as a rookie on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour this season, will meet domestic fans for the first time in about seven months since the Daebo HouseD Championship last November.
