BUSAN — Youngsan University is expanding company-linked field placements and internships to train practical, industry-ready graduates for the region.
The university's Busan Anchor Project Group signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with Korea Education Group at the Haeundae campus, Youngsan University said on the 30th. The agreement covers joint regional innovation programs and the training of practically skilled workers.
The agreement focuses on building a cooperation framework between the university and the company in connection with the Busan Anchor Project, and on running courses that reflect demand from workplaces. The two sides plan to share knowledge and technology information and to strengthen links between university education and industry.
Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate on projects tied to the Busan Anchor Project, provide job-skills training and support student field placements and internships. They will jointly develop a competency-based curriculum drawing on workplace needs identified through the partnership, and will also evaluate and advise on how the courses are run. The aim is to connect theory learned at the university with hands-on job experience at companies.
"We plan to expand field-oriented, practical training programs and uncover innovative local content to raise the brand value of both the university and the region," said Kwon Kyung-hwi, head of the Busan Anchor Project Group. "We will also contribute to building a sustainable cultural industry ecosystem connected to the local community."
