Anyang Reaches Out to 2,900 Residents at High Risk of Needing Care

ANYANG — The city of Anyang said on the 23rd that it will carry out a preemptive, intensive search for residents in need of integrated care through October, targeting about 2,900 people classified as high risk.

The survey marks a departure from the city's previous approach, which centered on publicity campaigns and waited for residents to apply. Anyang plans to cross-analyze data from its customized care service for older adults with big data from the National Health Insurance Service to identify households in crisis and classify them as priority cases for care.

The survey is divided into three stages based on the characteristics of those targeted. In the first stage, the city has sent notices to 778 people, including older adults with disabilities who use the customized care service, and is holding consultations with them. The second stage covers 1,136 people whose applications for long-term care ratings were rejected or dismissed, or who were found ineligible for a rating. In the third stage, set for October, the city will review the living conditions of about 1,000 people drawn from a list based on the insurance service's big data.

Residents identified through the search will be connected to integrated care services tailored to their individual circumstances, covering medical care, nursing care, household support and housing.

"We will make sure no resident goes without care because they lack information or find the procedures too complicated," Anyang Mayor Choi Dae-ho said. "Through outreach-based administration, we will steadily reduce the gaps in coverage."
