YANGJU — The city of Yangju in Gyeonggi Province has launched an online discount event ahead of the Chuseok holiday to promote sales of local farm and specialty products and ease residents' grocery shopping costs.
The city said on the 16th that the special Chuseok promotion will run through Oct. 25 on Yangju Farmer Market, its online shopping platform for local agricultural and specialty goods. The event offers 20% discount coupons to members of the site.
New members receive two coupons and existing members receive one, and the coupons can be used for purchases during the promotion period.
Additional benefits are also available for buyers. Customers who spend 40,000 won or more on Yangju Farmer Market during the event period will receive two admission tickets to Nari Farm. The tickets can be collected at an event booth at Nari Farm after presenting a purchase receipt.
The city is also introducing a produce bundle set that brings together its farm and specialty products in a single package. The product combines a range of local agricultural goods and comes with a set discount and free shipping to lower costs for consumers.
"For Chuseok, we have prepared a range of benefits so that people can buy quality farm and specialty products from our region at more reasonable prices," said Jung Yeon-a, head of Yangju's technical support division. "We hope many residents will take interest and use the service."
Yangju Farmer Market allows shoppers to easily buy farm and specialty products grown and produced in Yangju online. Details on discounts for each event and product information are available on the Yangju Farmer Market website.
