Man in His 20s Suspected of Strangling Girlfriend to Death in Jincheon

A man in his 20s has been taken into custody on suspicion of killing his girlfriend in Jincheon, North Chungcheong Province.

Jincheon Police Station said on the 16th that it had booked the man, identified only as A, on a murder charge and was questioning him.

The man is suspected of strangling his girlfriend, identified only as B, to death at a low-rise multi-unit home in Jincheon-eup, Jincheon County, at about 6:50 p.m. the previous day.

During police questioning, the man said the two had been arguing and that she had insulted his parents, according to police.

He turned himself in to police about an hour after the killing.

Police plan to seek an arrest warrant for the man after investigating the exact circumstances and motive.
