
Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City said on the 15th that it is accepting applications for its 2026 Master Craftsman program until the 18th. The program covers 92 job categories across 38 fields, and up to 10 people will be selected. Those chosen receive the title of master craftsman along with a certificate and a plaque, and are paid 2 million won a year for five years, totaling 10 million won in technical incentives.
The program is designed to bolster the pride of skilled workers in the region and to promote the advancement and transfer of superior skills. Applicants must have worked in their field for at least 15 years. They must also have lived in Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City for at least three years, or have at least three years of experience at a workplace located in the city. Candidates are also assessed on whether they possess a high level of skill and have contributed to advancing local skills and raising the standing of skilled workers.
